Come and play board games with us! We offer an opportunity to learn how to play new board games as well as Alias and Trivial Pursuit. Our gamebank includes for example King of Tokyo, visually impressive DiXit and storytelling cardgame Once Upon a Time. You can take part of fast game LoveLetter, annoy your friends at Dominion, dare to discover Forbidden Island, try citybuilding game Citadels. We organize four draws during the event where you can win one of the board games (Love Letter, Dominion, Citadels, Forbidden Island)!

Jyvälä of the future @ Jyvälän setlementtitalo

What would You like to happen in your neighbourhood? What kind of activities are you hoping for? Have you always craved of organizing your own events, but do not know where to begin?

The Orange Tempest and Jyvälän Setlementti ry are organizing an active discussion event where you can affect Your neighborhood’s future. Come join the discussion and contribute with your ideas! Come leave your wishes on the branches of the Dream Tree and reflect on the future with a cup of coffee. Children will be entertained during the discussion event: our counsellors will oversee them on the agility course and fairytale theater.

The event is part of the 75th anniversary of Jyvälän Setlementti.

The Living Library @Veturitallit

The living library works just like a regular library except instead of books made of paper, you loan people. These people who are books in the living library may often get lot of preconceptions because of their profession. You can ask any questions from our ''books'', even challenging ones.

My Jyväskylä-workshops @Alvar Aalto-museum

My Jyväskylä-workshops are created for bringing out your own ideas and sharing them with other people - this brainstorming can lead to some new exciting innovations! In this occation, we hope to hear what are your favourite places in Jyväskylä and why. We all create different aspects of our living cities and that's what makes these workshops interesting.

My memories of Jyväskylä

This workshop is for sharing your memories about Jyväskylä. You can bring old photographs from town which we can discuss about and if you want, we can scan the pictures and convert them also in digital format.

The second workshop of the day includes a visit in Jyväskyläs center. There participants can photograph some elements which are nowadays important in Jyväskylä. Expert or not, we invite all photographers to this workshop who are interested to keep our city memorized! 

You can participate only in one of the workshops or both. 

The event is located in Alvar Aalto museum's Bio Alppi.

Nostra&Damus – The Grand Fleashow @Kompassi

Nostra&Damus are bringing a breeze of middle ages, when they drag their Grand Fleashow on Jyväskylä. This show will tickle your brain and tempt all you bookwise fellows from hinterlands. Also those with less intelligence, welcome. Like children. (medieval humor)

Nostra&Damus – The Grand Fleashow is based on a format by Päivi Hirvi. Both Nostra and Damus is played by Minna Tuomanen.

You can find Nosta&Damus at Jyväskylä Kompassi (Kauppakatu) on Friday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and on Saturday at 12 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Circus arrived to the city-show @Pasila

Childrens and youngsters culturecenter Kulttuuriaitta and Jyväskylä's circus school invites everyone at all ages to a very special circustour. On Circus arrived to the city -show you can go on a ride with an imaginary circus that went on a tour in Finland in the 1900s.

In this colorful show children can, for example, take a look in funny circus wagons and sit on a minielephant.

Come explore the diverse recreational possibilities of the Jyväskylä region! Orange Tempest is offering you a chance to get to know all kinds of different hobbies from scouting to capoeira. 

The event includes many different stops, where you can participate. The winner will be chosen by Lady Luck. Sisi Majitu, capoeira group and medieval swordplay group are giving visitors a chance to try these different arts during the day. Do not forget to also participate to our fun City Adventure, which starts from Gloria at 1pm!

The Orange Tempest @Shopping centre Forum

The Orange Tempest is storming all over Forum!

In the Forum Shopping centre, you can experience many different performances on Saturday (November 28). For example, Jaguars Spirit Athletes ry will be on stage with their stunning cheerleaders and later the pole dancers from the dancing club Ready Set Pole will entertain us more. In addition, Jyväskyläs academy of dance is presentating us some of Forum's clothing stores seasonal newbies (Only, Bik Bok, Vero Moda and Cubus) on a fashion show. In the afternoon, theatre Osuuskunta Kuje will be performing us.

After the dancing shows, the dance instructors are eager to answer your questions and giving sale coupons to their classes. This is something you do not want to miss!

Movie: Go Love Yourself @Veturitallit

A despondent girl. A boy who still believes in love. Eve meets Juri while people in the city night prey on each other. A shadow appears to tighten its grip on Eve. A thing with the foreboding face of a murky stranger. Pidä rakkautes (Go Love Yourself) is a dark comedy-drama with romantic overtones. It is based on a theatrical play of the same name, written and directed by Aino Martiskainen in Jyväskylä, Finland 2013 for Jyväskylän Kansannäyttämö theatre.

You can also meet the director Johannes Myllymäki and he is willing to answer your questions about the movie.

Gig: 1981 @Kulttuuriravintola Ylä-Ruth

1981 is an anarchistic post punk band from Turku which shall play at Svart Festival in Lutakko on the 28th of November. JKLDIY is offering a chance to see this band for free at bar Ylä-Ruth earlier on the same day. The gig shall start at 5PM.
